Morocco: Open Data Portal relaunched on CKAN

The “Digital Economy” department at the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy in Morocco mentioned via Twitter (French) that the new version of the official Open Data portal of the Kingdom of Morocco will be based on CKAN. During the last months, OKFN Morocco Ambassador, Abderahman Zohry, had conducted a number of meetings with the Open Data committee. The aim was to showcase the advantages of the open source software package CKAN for the relaunch of data.gov.ma, the Open Data portal of the Kingdom.

End of November 2013, the person responsible for the Open Data portal at the “Digital Economy” department confirmed that the beta version was ready. The ministry’s technical team has allowed Abderahman to have a “tester” account for prior to the official launch.

If you want to help out, do not hesitate to get in touch with Abderahman (@vxroot) and OKFN Morocco (@OKFNMa).
